At Sts. Joan of Arc & Patrick School, our Middle School offers a focus on spirituality and sacramental opportunities. Our students live their faith not only in formal ways, but also in their day-to-day activities. There is an atmosphere of positive peer pressure, where students encourage one another to make good choices. Our students and teachers are able to relate to each other through Christ's example.
Middle School emphasizes the application of ideas and theories. Learning becomes more individualized. Our school offers a strong focus on each individual student. Teachers give additional help to students when needed.
STSJP Middle School offers students opportunities including Student Council and National Junior Honor Society; interschool athletics including basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, track and golf; and clubs such as robotics, drama and euchre club; and academic competitions including Spell Bowl, Academic Super Bowl, Battle of the Books and Geography Bee.
"In my class, my students can look forward to more project based learning. I think this gives students a chance to be creative while they are learning different historical topics."
The class sizes and the ability for all teachers to understand how each student works best is such an advantage for each child who attends STSJP. We truly are a family and enjoy seeing each student thrive and succeed in this environment."
- Nicole Miller, 6th Grade Teacher and Middle School Social Studies
"Students can look forward to a teacher who has an excellent rapport with his students and promotes Catholic identity in the classroom.
Religion classes are not present in public schools. My middle school religion classes are the only ones in the Kokomo area that focus on the Catholic faith at the middle school level."
- Brian Goshorn, 7th Grade Teacher
Seventh Grade Highlights:
“We love to have fun in middle school along with working hard! We do ice skating trips, 8th grade trips, along with fun things for Catholic Schools week and more!
We care about educating the student, but also about their well being and personal lives. We strive to educate the whole student along with preparing them for high school!
We have 2 paths that middle school students can take for Math beginning in 7th grade. 7th graders will be placed in either math or Pre Algebra. 8th graders will be placed in either Algebra 1 for their high school credit, or Pre Algebra.”
