Sts. Joan of Arc & Patrick continues to operate as a school without a full mask mandate. However, we will continue to enforce masking in congested areas and will enforce social distancing to the extent possible.
Following the guidance from the Indiana Department of Health, here is our updated Covid-19 policy:
School Attendance:
If a student or staff member tests positive for Covid-19:
Stay home for 5 days.
Wear mask on days 6-10 in the classroom.
(must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication and other symptoms improving)
If a student or staff member is exposed and considered a close contact for Covid-19:
If fully vaccinated (this includes a booster dose if eligible):
Stay at school as long as asymptomatic. Test on Day 5 if possible.
Wear a mask in class for 10 days from last day of exposure.
If unvaccinated or partially vaccinated:
Stay home for 5 days after last exposure. Test on day 5 if possible.
Return on day 6 if asymptomatic and wear a mask in the classroom for 5 days.
Regardless of vaccination status, if symptoms develop, get a test and stay home/return home. If the test is positive, follow the guidelines for an individual who tests positive. If the test is negative, return to school when symptoms have resolved.
Extracurricular Activities:
If a student tests positive:
Can resume activity on day 6 if able to wear a mask (days 6-10) and cleared by physician.
If a student is exposed and considered a close contact for Covid-19:
If fully vaccinated (this includes receipt of a booster dose if eligible):
Can continue activity but must mask when not actively performing or playing.
If unvaccinated or partially vaccinated:
Stay home for 5 days after last exposure with no participation in activity. May resume activity on day 6 but must wear a mask at all times during days 6-10 including when actively participating in activity.
