The students and faculty of STSJP received welcome news recently as they learned they were at the top of the charts on the recent state-wide, standardized I-Learn test. STSJP was one of only five schools diocesan-wide that received a top score.
“We are excited to learn that the I-Learn state passing grades for our school are again the highest in Howard County,” principal Nick Kanable shared. “It’s really impressive, especially when we realize that our scores actually improved during the Covid shutdown of 2020.”
Noting that STSJP School is the largest ministry of the Kokomo Pastorate, Evangelization Director Therese Bath offered an explanation for why the students in grades 3-8 did so well on the test. “That has a lot to do with the relationships our students and teachers have with one another and that the teachers have with parents,” she said, adding that it’s not just a school day for the teachers. “We are truly a school family, and that connection helped us to help our students through the learning obstacles that happened when they couldn’t come to school.”
